Compliance with ICR-59
The Workplace Safety and Loss Prevention Program was created to reduce workplace injuries and lower workers’ compensation costs for employers. You can find specific details on the program in Section 134 of the Workers’ Compensation Law and the Department of Labor’s (DOL) Industrial Code Rule (ICR) 59. If your business has received a letter from the New York Compensation Insurance Rating Board requiring a “Safety and Loss Prevention Consultation and Evaluation” please call us. The NYCIRB forwards a copy of this letter to the New York State Department of Labor. The NYS DOL requires that your business obtain a safety inspection due to your business’ Workers Compensation Claim History. The Department of Labor flags all businesses that receive the NYCIB letter under Industrial Code Rule 59. The NYS DOL forwards this list to all NYS licensed inspectors quarterly.
